Instrument: BUCHI Rotavaper R-200

Single-stage distillations can be done quickly with a rotary vacuum evaporator. The essence of this method is the evaporation and condensation of solvents using a rotating evaporator balloon. Distillations can be done under vacuum. This improves performance and helps protect products. The vacuum lowers the boiling temperature and thus increases the performance of the distillation. For this purpose, there is a vacuum controller (V-800), with a second concentrator (Buchi VacV-503). The vacuum system with PTFE diaphragm pump and vacuum controller is suitable for the controlled removal of gas or water from laboratory instruments with a vacuum of less than 10 mbar. The oval-shaped water bath is capable of accepting large and small blow-up balloons.
