Electron Spin Resonance Spectrometer
Instrument: Bruker ELEXSYS E580
Electron Spin Resonance (ESR), also called Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR), is a branch of spectroscopy concerned with electromagnetic radiation (usually microwave frequency) that causes transitions between magnetic energy levels of electrons with unpaired spins.
Specifications
The ESR spectrometer works in X and Q-bands with a 10" magnet. Electrochemical and special flat cells are available that can be used in room temperature studies. There are also liquid helium cryostats to be used with the standard X-band cavity, and thus from 4 K to room temperature. measurements can be made.
