Real Time PCR

Real-time PCR is the most widely used PCR method giving both qualitative and quantitative results. In contrast to classical PCR based on an end product analysis, Real-Time PCR Systems monitor PCR reactions simultaneously as the reaction occurs. In such systems, the amount of PCR product produced in successive cycles is proportional to the released fluorescence signal. This signal increases in proportion to the resulting PCR products generated in each reaction cycle. Amount of fluorescence signal is recorded at each cycle, and PCR reaction is monitored during its logarithmic phase.

Low-Volume Spectrophotometer

Spectrophotometric measurements based on the light passing through a solution at a certain spectrum and the extent of its absorbance. Maximum absoption of DNA and RNA is at 260 nm, while it is 280 nm for protein solutions. 260 and 280 nm (A260/A280) ratio in the measurement range gives the purity of nucleic acids.

DNA Sequence Analysis

Instrument: ABI 310

ABI 310 is a DNA analysis device based on capillary electrophoresis. This device automates the gel pouring and sample loading processes. Sequence analysis and DNA fragment analysis have become quite easy with the fluorescent color detection system.

With the 61 cm silica capillary, up to 650 bases of DNA can be read, and ten samples can be examined per day. Up to 450-500 bases of DNA can be read with a 45 cm capillary, and the processing time is shortened by approximately 1 hour per sample compared to a 61 cm capillary.

Vacuum Oven

Using reduced pressure, the Gallenkamp Vacuum Oven allows heat-sensitive materials to be dried at low temperatures. Alternatively, more stable samples can be dried faster at higher temperatures without fan circulation.

This furnace is also particularly useful for heating under controlled atmosphere. Since the inner chamber is completely sealed, it may also be suitable for solvent removal, subject to adequate exhaust piping and ventilation conditions for the furnace and chamber respectively.

The Maxi-Dry Lyo mobile system is designed for rapid drying of samples containing strong acids and bases or volatile samples.
