Hardness Testers
Instrument: Instron Testor 930/250 ve Volpert Testor 2100
With the hardness measurement, the resistance of the material to plastic deformation is determined. In order to obtain the hardness value, a specially shaped small notch is applied to the sample surface, and then the hardness value of the sample is determined depending on the size or depth of the notch formed on the sample surface. Four standard test methods are used to establish the link between notch size and hardness (Brinell, Vickers, Knoop, and Rockwell).
Applications
- Metals
- Ceramics
- Plastics
Sample Requirements
Samples should be straight. Samples must be polished for microhardness measurements.
